I have had some irritable fans lately ask for a post. Well, I am breaking to write a book and it is coming along nicely. So I am going to give you just a taste of the outline for starters to whet your appetite. And pretty soon, I might give you some clips.
Tha main character is Anna Neimus, an Ole Miss student who writes for the campus newspaper. Upon instruction from her editor to write an article about the Presidential debate, she does the impossible. It would be impossible but it is Anna who has a knack for controversy. She still suffers from a stigma due to a previous article she wrote. Her conclusion that the debate was "historically boring" incites anger on campus.
She is consoled by her Aunt, a former Daily Mississippian editor and her mentor, Amy High, who introduces her to Clay Cole, a student leader during the turbulent '90's. Together, he telling his story and she writing hers in real time, both find forgiveness for their transgressions and atonement for their actions.
The book has southern humor and incorporates similar humor to people accustomed to reading Christopher Buckley's Thank You for Smoking. Look for it in bookstores near you this fall.
